Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island is a semi-private (open to the public) 18 hole golf course.
The course first opened for play in 1957 with 9-holes. The back 9-expansion opened in 1966. The course was designed by the land/farm owner, Manual "Manny" Raposa.
Manna's labor of love was rewarded with recognition that this was more than a course made by a novice course designer. Manny had "the touch." Manna passed to glory in 2000, but not before receiving recognition for his creation. In 1995, The Rhode Island Golf Association hosted the RI Amateur at Green Valley. This was the first time the tournament was played on a public course. It was so successful that in 1997 Green Valley hosted the RI Open tournament. Again, the first time a public course had hosted that event. Several other state championships, high school, college, PGA junior and USGA qualifying tournaments have been played at Green Valley.

One of the best layouts in ri fair from white tees for average golfer. Much more difficult from back tees especially the par 3's. Also has forward tees as well as senior tees which makes it most enjoyable for older golfers.
