Detailed description of Burning Ridge Golf Course

Burning Ridge Golf Course is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Conway, South Carolina.

The course was originally known as the East Course at Burning Ridge. In 2005 the West course was closed and has since been repurposed for residential housing.

Burning Ridge Golf course first opened for play in 1980. The course was designed by Gene Hamm.

The course plays to a par 72. The course has mature long-leaf pines, thoughtful hole construction, and a seamless design that blends perfectly with its natural surroundings and superb course conditions on a year-round basis.

Burning Ridge presents a challenging yet fair test of your game from each set of tees it offers, with an emphasis on keeping shots in the fairway. Attempting to overpower this course is not the best strategy on most holes.

Big hitters will find the par fives reachable in two if they land in the fairway off the tee with a long drive. A big challenge, though, comes on the par 3s – particularly holes No. 12 and 17, with water surrounding each of these peninsula greens.

Hamm has his own way of camouflaging fairways with bunkers and strategically placed trees.

Burning Ridge rewards patience off the tee and offers a distinct advantage to strong shotmakers. TifEagle Bermuda greens offer steady, smooth putting surfaces whose speed is manageable when paired with the notable undulation found on many of them.

With a centralized location convenient to many area attractions and amenities, Burning Ridge Golf Club continues to be a popular option for golf vacationers and local residents alike.

Nice Layout and the friendliest people that I've encountered. The only issue was the pace of play.

Fairly priced for locals or those using the MBGA Passport card. Good value for vacationeers. The course was well maintained and the greens in good condition. Both grrens and fairways were overseeded and green. Two of the par 3's are a little long and overwater which makes them difficults from the white and blue tees. Can be difficult to get a tee time during peak times.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
