Red Bank Plantation, is a Military, 18 hole golf course located in Charleston, South Carolina, within the gates of Joint Base Charleston – Weapons Station.
The course is open to the public without having to be accompanied by an authorized patron. You may do so by applying for a Golf Patron Pass for a $7 application processing fee. Red Bank Plantation first opened for play in 1953.The course was designed by Military Personnel.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 5,382 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,516 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 475 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 15, a par-3 that plays to 128 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 4, a 450 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 15, a 128 yard par-3.
The golf course winds through 125 acres of rolling terrain with huge live oaks and bountiful wildlife. At any time of the day, you can find osprey, eagles, wild turkey, fox, whitetail deer and an abundance of alligators on the course. The original plantation was a brick foundry and the graves of the original owners border the golf course on hole 16 and have been deemed a historical society grave yard.
