Legacy Ridge Country Club is an 18 hole semi-private golf course located in Bonham, Texas.
Legacy Ridge first opened for play in 2003. The course was designed by Bill Johnston.
Legacy Ridge is a par 72 course that plays to 6,750 yards from the back tees. The course rating is 71.8 and it the slope rating is 127.
The course combines several unique landscapes with classic designs to allow golfers to enjoy a great game of golf. Large Bent grass greens, numerous sand bunkers, groves of hardwood trees and rock waterfalls are present on this course.
The Course consists of two distinctly different nines. The Front 9 winds down into the enhanced wetlands of Bois d’ Arc Creek. The front 9 is more of an open links style layout. The back nine a much different with a contrasting traditional style, with large old oaks, elevation changes, and a park like atmosphere. The Back 9 plays across waterfalls, white sand bunkers and numerous hardwood trees.

Do yourself a favor and take a road trip to Bonham, TX and play this course. My group and I met there on a Sunday morning, and paid about
$35 with cart to play this interesting, attractive and fun course.
I am not a "links" style fan, but I do appreciate variety, and Legacy Ridge has it. The impressive clubhouse welcomes you on arrival, and raises your expecations on what lies ahead.
The front nine is the links, with the challenge coming from water and grassy hazards placed alongside many of the holes. The fairways
are generous enough for the average player not to worry much, however, an occasional errant shot is probably gone for good.
My favorite part of the round is reaching #10, and seeing a somewhat daunting carry over a large pond right in front of the teeing area.
Within another hole or two, you begin to see an entirely different golf course from the front nine, with elevation changes, many old oaks, and a great park-like setting.
This is a beautiful rural setting, with only a few houses anywhere in sight (for now), and the drive up to Bonham helps to relax you for the round ahead. The staff is friendly, and welcoming, but local Bonham golfers are probably hoping you never make it up to their 18 hole hide-out (for the time being).

My foursome played there the morning of our 30th Bonham HS reunion. It had rained all week and we were concerned that the course may not even be open and that they might not even let us on. They did open for us even though the front nine was under water. They let us play the back nine twice and we enjoyed it both times. The course was in surprizingly good shape given the amount of water that had been dumped on it that week. It's a course worth playing, even when sopping wet. I've played the course one other time, and the front nine is a good test of golf. Just a different test than the back nine.
