Columbia Lakes Country Club is located within the 2,000 acres of the Columbia Lakes community. The 18 holes of golf are wooded, with lakes and streams to provide beauty and excellent play ability for both the high and low handicapper. The course, redesigned by renowned golf architect Tom Fazio, measures 6,967 yards and plays to par 72.
The meticulously maintained course is enhanced by winding lakes, lush fairways and moss-covered oak trees and features dogleg fairways and a lagoon coming into play on several holes. The layout is tree lined throughout, with a mix of tight and open driving holes. Golfers will be challenged to place the ball in the sometimes narrow fairways, and the small to medium size green complexes also demand accurate approaches.Only guests of the resort, members of the club, and reciprocals are allowed to play the course.
The putting surfaces are mildly sloping and are often framed by one or more bunkers, with gentle mounding on either side. Sand traps are also strategically situated near the landing zones on the fairways, and can be particularly menacing on the numerous doglegs. In total there are 52 sand bunkers, and water is also a prominent feature, with hazards coming into play on 11 holes. Al 4 of the par threes have green complexes protected by lakes or ponds.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,967 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,280 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 533 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 185 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 8, a 417 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Columbia Lakes Resort & Conference Center is # 1, a 500 yard par-5.
