Detailed description of Grand Oaks Golf Club

Grand Prairie Country Club previously named Grand Oaks Golf Club is a semi-private 18 hole golf course located in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Grand Prairie Country Club first opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by Don January.

Within the secluded and naturally beautiful tract of land, Mr. January accomplished his goal of sculpting a golf course that would challenge golfers of all skill levels and be enjoyable to play. This tranquil setting features century-old oak trees, abundant wildlife, and two meandering waterways, all contributing to a unique and memorable golf experience. Water comes into play in 15 of 18 holes.

The classic design of Grand Prairie Country Club features tree-lined fairways, small greens, and variety. This self-contained golf course makes you feel as though you are in a lush nature park. With homes tucked away only around the perimeter of the property, golfers enjoy the traditional look and feel of golf.

Par for the Grand Oaks / Grand Prairie golf course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,953 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,045 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 665 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 145 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 2, a 434 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at the Grand Prairie Country Club golf course is # 14, a 192 yard par-3.

Have played here in Fall. Much better conditions. Memorial Day price and pace was good. Greens HARD. Fairways so hard and dry that balls AND clubs bounce high. Need to improve Food/Beverage.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

Very good course...course is very challenging...you are punished for not hitting the fairway and pin placements are always challenging...choice of five tee boxes so anyone can enjoy their round...if you're in the area it is now called Grand Oaks Golf Club and is a semi-private course...public always welcome...the only con is that it drains slowly so if it has been raining, look for cart path only play for your round...beautiful course
