Legendary Oaks Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Hempstead, Texas.
Legendary Oaks Golf Course first opened for play in 1968. The course was designed by Leon Howard. When first opened the course was named the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreational Center Golf Course and was a 9-hole course. The course was expanded to 18 holes in 2000. The redesign was handled by Jay Riviera.
This scenic par-71 course was built on gently rolling terrain. There is a lake that comes into play on five holes. The medium-length layout features 4 sets of teeboxes for the enjoyment of golfers of all skill levels.
Championship tees: 6,565 yards, course rating 71.4, slope rating 124.
Tournament tees: 6,075 yards, course rating 68.8, slope rating 121.
Regular tees: 5,435 yards, course rating 65.6, slope rating 114.
Forward tees: 4,860 yards, course rating 67.6, slope rating 115.

A good lay out with some challenges and some "gimmes". Overall, you cannot beat the price for what you get. A true "country" club golf course. I will play there again. Not that accessible to golfers in most of Houston but those on the Northwest side, it is well worth the drive to Hempstead.
