Dallas Athletic Club is a Private, 36 hole golf facility located in Dallas, Texas. The facility has two, 18-hole golf courses, The Blue Course and The Gold Course.
The Blue Course opened for play in 1954. The course was designed by Jack Plummer. Feeling nostalgic for his first major win at the 45th PGA Championship in 1963, played on Dallas Athletic Club's Blue Course, Jack Nicklaus graciously accepted a request to redesign the Blue Course which was re-opened as a Nicklaus design in 1986. The beautiful transformation of the course exceeded expectations and prompted a request for Nicklaus to be the architect for the Gold Course, making it a second signature championship course. The Gold Course opened for play in 1989.
Dallas Athletic Club, The Blue Course (opened in 1954, reopened in 1986) offers natural waterways, rolling hills and a splendid variety of trees. Bentgrass greens, 419 Bermuda fairways, waterfalls, white sand and grass bunkers make the Blue Course a pleasure as well as a challenge to play.
Dallas Athletic Club, The Gold Course (opened in 1989) stretches over 7,000 yards and plays to a par 72 with 419 Bermuda fairways and Bentgrass greens. Natural features, including lakes and mature trees are combined with modern design techniques to provide golfers with a variety of scenes and interesting golf shots on every hole.
