Detailed description of Sky Mountain Golf Course

Sky Mountain Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Hurricane, Utah

Sky Mountain golf course first opened for play in 1994. The par 72 course was designed by Jeff D. Hardin.

Sky Mountain Golf Course is a City owned public 18 hole golf course. The course plays to 6,312 yards for a course rating of 69.9 and a slope rating of 115.

Sky Mountain Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah is only 10 miles from St. George and worth the drive. Many consider it one of the best values in the area. The golf course is very unique with its rolling fairways and tabletop greens framed by red sand and lava-filled desert surrounds. The approach shots for the most part are reasonable. There are some nice elevation changes from tee to fairway, and from fairway to green. The incredible panoramic view from the many elevated tees makes focusing on the shot at hand challenging. This is especially true on the 1st, 5th, 17th, and 18th holes as you marvel at the striking beauty of the twisted red rock landscape that gives Sky Mountain its name.

Some claim the Sky Mountain driving range is the prettiest you will ever see. You will be hitting to a severe downhill slope that drops off. Spectacular red rock formations can be seen in the distance.

I loved this course -but not in 30 mph wind. "Turtleback" shaped greens that are cut tight are great - but not in 30 mph wind. Tight fairways are fun and challenging - but not in the wind. Conditions can determine how enjoyble your round will be. Scenery is wonderful, staff pleasant. Fantatic challenge for a "flat-lander". Keep an eye on the forecast!

Would travel: 120-300 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again

Course is always in wonderful condition, staff are very friendly, and, if the round goes poorly, the views are majestic!! This is the kind of golf course that never grows old. New driving range greatly enhances quality of view and experience.

Been playing this course for a number of years at all times of the year - Jan., May/June, Oct. Greens and fairways always lush and green. Teh scenery on the golf course is awesome and the drive from Mesquite, NV (30+ miles) is quite beautiful too.

Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Ranks with the best in this price level, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

One of my favorite courses to play in Southern Utah. The scenery is fantastic. It can be a tough course if the wind kicks up. Bring your camera. Nearly every hole can be a challenge.
