It's not in great shape, but it is the easiest place to squeeze in 9 holes in the DC metro area: and at $15, it's really hard to beat.

After just playing/reviewing four (4) nice courses in the Woods Hole, Mass area, this was a little of a let down. But getting a early Friday morning tee time for three (3) people, thirteen (13) hours earlier, you take what you can get. The East Potomac "White" Executive course is a 2,420yd / 31.3 / 105 Links type Par 33 layout. Even though its basically flat they have done a pretty good job of placing sand traps protecting five (5) of these well conditioned and rolling (8-9) greens. Fairways (winter rules) are generous enough for the beginning golfer to have a open 2nd shot to the greens. Starting out is the shortest Par 3 hole at 156yds and a large green to warm up on. This is followed by #2 their Hcp1 and longest Par 4 at 381yds that has two (2) front RH traps guarding the elevated green. The #3 Par 4 at 266yds is a slight dogleg left but to a very small green. The #4 is a 285yd Par 4 that has three (3) deep front traps guarding this 8' elevated green so stay to the RH side of the green. The #5 is a 174yd Par 3 that has two (2) traps tucked to the front edge so no short bounce on's here. This is followed up by #6 a 190yd Par 3 that you can bounce on if needed with no traps. The #7 is a sweeping left 355yd Par 4 with two (2) traps hugging the front left side. The #8 is a dogleg left 286yd Par 4 with a large sand trap protecting those taking a short cut to the green. The #9 is a straightaway 327yd Par 4 with a thick grassy bunkers on the left side of the fairway 200-240yds out from the tee box. The 8' elevated green has a sand trap in the back for those shots not holding this flat green. We all enjoyed the 2hr pace and working with our 3 woods and long irons off the tee to the smaller but well conditioned greens. I ended up shooting 36 w/16putts and Neal had 35 w/14 putts and Jeffery had 54 w/20 putts but having a great time on the Links.
