Played here on a cool February on a retreat from the frozen north. Had to wait until late AM due to frost delay, and course was Cart-Path Only due to wet fairways. As a result of all this, our round was a bit slower than normal, and we got to walk a lot more of the course than we normally would. Still, it is a beautiful course, even in the total brown-out due to dormant grass. Vistas from tee boxes are breath-taking. A on looks, but not so easy to score!

Layout is a real tribute to the architect: lots of elevation change, and very well employed. Many bunkers, but most are easily avoided with a sensible shot - for first-timers, that's a challenge, so if possible, play with someone who's been there before. Our group of travelers kind of muddled our way around. Most fairways have dips, side-hills, and moguls, so be prepared for some odd lies. Greens are very large, and a few have multi-tiers, but we didn't find them overbearing: all putted medium speed, and all held incoming shots well.

Course conditions were so-so, but it is February, after all, and we were grateful just to be playing! We all had problems with the approaches to the green: land a ball short of the putting surface and it stopped where it hit, no bounces at all. Took us a while to adjust to that. Some very long distances from green to next tee, as the course meanders through an upscale housing development (some beautiful homes, too), so I don't think the course is walk-able, even for the hale and hearty, let alone us seniors.

Staff was very cordial, and kept us informed of the frost-delay progress, and provided valuable info for one of our group who had a tire problem with his car. Overall, we really liked the course, and highly recommend.

Course is being bought and current owners have let the fairways die. When new owners take over (Tradition Golf), it should come back to its previous excellent condition.
