Wing Point Golf & Country Club is a Private , 18 hole golf course located in Bainbridge Island , Washington
In 1903, West Point first saw golf being played in the Apple Orchad located near the present day hole #7. By 1916, the Wing Pointers of the time became more serious about golf and developed more of the orchard and meadow property into a six-hole course, most of it skirting the lower portion of the present course, south of the county road (Wing Point Way). In the early 20s, the course grew to 9 holes with sand greens. The course was expanded to 18 holes in 1963. The course designer was Bill Teufel. Jack Frei designed nine new holes in 1991.
This course's back nine has water hazards coming into play on eight holes. Many shots will require perfect placement in order to hit the small target areas.

This is a private country club; I played it as part of a Home and Home match with my course; it's the second time I played it. Layout is interesting, but nothing unusual. Great condition, but what makes the experience here unique are the greens. By far the poa annua greens are the best I've ever played on, which includes the Pebble Beach properties. They run about 12 on the stimpmeter. The greens are so good because of an excellent greenskeeper and the members treating the greens properly. The staff and members are wonderful.
