Esquire Golf Course is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Barboursville, West Virginia.
Esquire Golf Course first opened for play in 1974. The course was designed by Xenophon Hassenplug.
When first built the course had bunkers that were sand filled. They have been removed, making the course play easier than it should. The terrain is relatively flat and will benefit shorter hitters.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,905 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,245 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 567 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 13, a par-3 that plays to 182 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 8, a 452 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 7, a 185 yard par-3.

Esquire Golf Course is perhaps the worst courses I've ever played.
I would not recommend Esquire to anyone. Fairways were hairy Bermuda, looked like rough, The course had no sand traps, houses were so close they should've just built them in the fairways, tee boxes were horrible & the staff was unprofessional, I've played & instructed all over the country & this is by far the worst facility I've been to, and the price is to play is a joke, anyone who would give this course anything above a poor review would have to be crazy at best. I will never again play this course.

A long course from the back tees, and requires a pretty straight ball striker. The houses that surround the course are pretty close and could come into play, if you're not careful. People do walk this course, but I recommend that you ride your first time, due to it's length and elevation changes.
