Sugarwood Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Lavalette, West Virginia.
Sugarwood Golf Club first opened for play in 1965, in 1980 PGA Professional Ed Allen purchased the club. In 1989 Allen began redesigning and rebuilding the course one hole at a time. To date (2009) Mr. Allen has rebuilt 11 holes, leaving only 7 holes and a new clubhouse to be built. The current 18 hole course layout plays as a par 72, featuring bermuda fairways and a variety of hazards including creeks, ponds, and sand bunkers.
Sugarwood Golf Club plays to a maximum distance of 6,545 yards for a par course rating of 71.8 and a slope rating of 129.

With the constant work that Ed and his staff put into this course it's no wonder that so many people play it. It seems to change every time I play it.

The owners are always putting money back into the course. Great place to play. Pace of play can be slow sometimes, but it's worth the drive to play.
