Beautiful course, by far the best in the area. Plenty of holes to keep the pace. Awesome, friendly staff and just a great place to spend the day playing golf!

This is a wonderful municipal course(s). Both the Blue Spruce & the White Birch are always in impeccable shape. Greens are very well maintained. The conditions at this facility are way above what is found at other munis in the area. I live 45 minutes way in metro Milwaukee and do not hesitate to make the drive. The only Milwaukee county course that compares in condition is Brown Deer and that course is in a different price range. As far as Brightondale's prices you don't have to go much farther than their own web site to find attractive deals.

First, it should be mentioned, the entire Brighton Dale Links complex lies immediately North (across Hwy.142) from Bong State Recreational Area. As well, there is an immediately adjacent picnic area (Brighton Dale Park) with playground, ball diamonds, and trails in a wooded area with pond. I was quite impressed by this Kenosha County complex of courses. Personally, it feels more like a much pricier country club.

Blue Spruce is the 'back' course (further from the access from Hwy.75 than the White Birch course). The course has many tree-lined fairways, a good assortment of ponds and sand traps. There is a decided lack of variety in elevation (no real elevated tees or greens that I recall), and most fairways play fairly straight, though you will find a couple slight doglegs, including the par-4 18th which does nearly a 90-degree left around a large pond. If you don't drive to the corner, it dares your nerve to hit across the pond to go for the green in two. Trees switch from deciduous (nearer the clubhouse) to evergreen (flanking #3-6). Also on #3-6 (and particularly #5) you may hear traffic on Hwy.142, the only place on Blue Spruce that the outside world invades.

Other than possible noise on a couple of holes, this course is a fine walk in the woods!

There were three 9 hole courses in 1972--Red, White, and Blue. Then in 1995 They added 9 holes to the White and Blue. They also took out two short par Threes--one on the White and one one the Blue. I've been playing since 1972 and over the years it has become a very good test of golf.
