The official "opening day" for Sea Mountain Golf Course was July 23, 2008. The course was designed by Roger Sudnikovich.
At Sea Mountain Golf Course, fairways are seeded with grass and the greens and tee boxes are artificial turf. Generally each hole has four tees. From the longest tees the course plays to 2,791 yards of golf for a par of 36. The course is carved out of the natural terrain, a hillside typical of a Southeast Alaska rain forest.
The driving range and golf course are situated in the Granite Creek area with a beautiful view of Sitka Sound and Mt. Edgecombe.
