Detailed description of Ajo Golf Course

Ajo Golf Course is a semi-private 9-hole golf course located in Ajo, Arizona. More specifically, the course is located 7 miles north of Ajo on Mead Road.

The course first opened for play in 1940.

Ajo Country Golf Course boasts a "classic" Arizona setting for golf, with the Ajo Mountains to the south, Childs Mountain to the west, and an arroyo cutting through the middle of the course, plus an abundance of wildlife including roadrunners, coyotes, and deer.

The course is built on naturally flat terrain and features elevated greens. Strategic shot-making is required because all the greens are fast and small, and the fairways are tree-lined. The signature hole is #9, a 123-yard, par 3, featuring water and tall palm trees protecting the front of the green.
