The Duke At Rancho Eldorado, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Maricopa, Arizona.
The Duke at Rancho El Dorado Golf Course first opened for play in 2003. The par-72 course was designed by David Druzisky.
The Duke at Rancho El Dorado Golf Course is noted for providing the feel of a Scottsdale golf club without the Scottsdale green fees. The course provides a challenging golf experience for golfers with a love for the game. It is highlighted by wide-open fairways. Measuring 7,011 yards from the back tees, the golf course has plenty of length to keep the expert player interested and at the same time will not overwhelm the beginner. It offers forgiving fairways, yet also allows the low handicap players to push their games to the limit. The fairways are wide, but strategic placement of the tee shots will set up the approach.
Black tees: 7,011 yards, course rating 74.2, slope rating 120.
Gold tees: 6,536 yards, course rating 69.9, slope rating 117.
Silver tees: 5,914 yards, course rating 67.2, slope rating 110.
Copper tees: 5,136 yards, course rating 69.1, slope rating 117.

I play in a league on Wednesdays, the Men's club on Saturday, and sometimes the skins game on Sundays. For a course with surrounding homes, this is one of the better ones as homes don't often come into play as hazards as I have seen in other courses in the metro area.

Excellent conditions, well kept...greens held nicely during my morning round 7-1015AM, though the putting surfaces were not always true. They were ok for this time of year and had only one putt really miss because of poor surface (out of five makeables not made). Staff is always good here. No cart girl was available but clubhouse water station and on course every couple holes easily remedied the situation.

The new owners have wasted a fairly nice course

Pretty bland, generic course, not very memorable, lots of holes seem the same. Very generous fairways, fun to play. Was in quite good condition and a good value at the time. The layout is designed to maximize housing and as such isn't the greatest to walk (have to cross some streets, etc.)

Nice easy track for most players. Wide open with large greens. Houses along most holes, but not in play. A good $$ value compared to pricey Scottsdale resort courses.

Houses adjacent to course are lower end and distract from ambiance. Easy layout allows for low scoring, but not challenging for lower handicapers. Course designed with high handicapers in mind. Very average course.

The fairway grass was long so not much roll but in excellent condition. Greens were also slow but rolled fairly true. Pace of play was excellent. Played both Saturday and Sunday at 7 AM and finished in 3.5 hrs each day. The clubhouse and staff were very good. I had a great experience and will return.
