Kino Springs golf course requires many uphill shots because of its elevation changes. The greens are well manicured. The tree-lined fairways are very narrow. The Santa Cruz River can be seen from the course, but it does not come into play. However, a creek and a pond come into play on two holes. The course begins in gentle meadowlands then, starting at Hole #5, winds its way through spectacular canyon country. The last five holes are bordered by mature pine trees and offer great views of the Santa Cruz River, open river country, and equestrian pastures. Wildlife sightings are a common occurrence during your round.

Middle part of the course is the most challenging and most fun. Keeping the ball in the fairway is a must as this part of the course winds over and around the foothills. the first few holes and the last few are pretty sraight forward but all the greens will hold an approach shot and the puts will role true with a good read. It is a course that lets you warm up for the tough part of the course and then gives you a few holes to get back the strokes you lost in the middle part of the round. A fun course.
