Quintero Golf Club is a semi=private, 18 hole golf course located in Peoria, Arizona.

The course first opened for play in 2000. The course was designed by Rees Jones and Steve Weisser.

Quintero Golf Club is an oasis of spectacular golf in the Sonoran Desert. The course winds its way through valleys separating the pristine Hieroglyphic Mountains that stretch for miles in every direction.

Quintero was ranked as #1 Best Public Golf Course for 2017 by both Golf Digest and GolfWeekly and ranked #1 in Arizona by Golf Advisor.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,249 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,043 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 8, a par-5 that plays to 586 yards. The shortest holes on the course are # 9 and #13, both are par-3s that play to 212 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 8, the 586-yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Quintero is # 13, one of the 212 yard par-3s.

Day 17 - 100 days, 100 courses (Saturday, March 30, 2019)

Quintero is another one of those golf courses that is seemingly out in the middle of nowhere. 20 minutes off of the highway and the nearest stoplight, magically it appears. A gentleman meets you at the gate to check you in and the first thing that he says is intimidating to every golfer, “I hope you have a lot of balls.” I hear more of that in the pro shop. It’s not going to be a good day.

One of the nice things about golf is that you can adjust the game to the skill level of the players and still have fun. So when Dave declared that he had only played 3 times this century we moved up our tees and played best ball. That helped but we started to get worried as we lost more and more balls. Luckily number 4 goes right by the parking lot so I could get two extra dozen.

The course was frustratingly slow. So upon the advice of the marshall, when we got to the turn we played the front 9 a second time. We were late in the day so we saw no one and just cruised through the back 9. Had a great time and it was great to catch up with an old friend.

Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again

If you have the time to get out of Phoenix (about 25 minutes northwest of town) do it! Played it on our second to last day of vacation and went back the last day for 18 more before heading to the airport. Amazing layout, wildlife, and views! The staff was awesome! The price scared me a little at first but that went away on the first tee! Amazing greens and don't forget your camera/phone in the car!

Would travel: 120-300 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Ranks with the best in this price level, Expensive and worth it, Best course in the area
