JW Marriott Wildfire Golf Club, is a Resort, 36 hole golf facility located in Phoenix, Arizona. The facility has two 18-hole championship golf courses. They are, The Faldo Course and The Palmer Course. The spectacular McDowell Mountains are a stunning backdrop to the resort's golf course.
The Palmer Signature Course at Wildfire opened for play in 1997. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer
The Palmer Signature Course plays to 7,145 yards from the Tournament tees. The course has wide, forgiving fairways allow the player to remain in play even with off center shots. The flashed bunkering on Palmer is superb, and the putting greens carry plenty of undulation, like many Arnold Palmer designs. The expansive square footage of the greens (average size is 7,000 square feet) allow the undulations to create subtle challenges for the short game without feeling contrived.
Tournament tees: par-72, 7,145 yards, 72.5/149
Regular tees: par-72, 6,080 yards, 68.0/120

The course is fair but a good challenge. There is more break on the greens than is visually apparent.

Long and wide, so I could play a longer (6700 yards course comfortably). Greens very good. Fairways being aerified, so I can't say what they would be normally. We stayed at Marriott and got a great deal. I'll play again when I go back.

excellent layout by Arnie Palmer. Well designed. Service staff including the head pro are all good. Course has some issues with fairway conditions. Greens roll well although don't look that good.

Played 4 days after the LPGA played and I believe the back 9 was the front nine for that tourney. Excellent condition. Bunker sand allowed for good bunker shots. Greens not so fast they would not hold.
