Detailed description of Phoenix Country Club

Phoenix Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Phoenix, Arizona.

Phoenix Country Club first opened for play in 1919. The course was designed by Harry J. Collis. The course was renovated in 2002 by a team of architects led by professional golfer, Tom Lehman.

The course is traditionally designed and has many large trees lining its narrow fairways. The course opened the Phoenix Open for almost fifty years, up to 1986. Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gene Littler, Johnny Miller, Miller Barber, Ben Crenshaw, Hal Sutton, and many other famous golfers are part of the course history. The course is plush with tight fairways and small greens.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,700 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,858 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 541 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 158 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 7, a 541-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 15, a 200 yard par-3.
