Wickenburg Ranch Golf Course is a semi-private 18-hole golf course located in Wickenburg, Arizona.
The course first opened for play in February, 2015. The course was designed by Wendell Pickett and Bill Brownlee.
Interestingly, the course was actually completed in 2008, however, because of the economic downturn at the time, the course was not opened. The course had seven years to "grow in." Conditions were perfect on opening day.
The course plays from just 4,912 yards to 7,050 yards from the rear, championship tees. The layout consists of six par-3's, five par-5's, and seven par-4's traverse through arroyos which offers views of Vulture Peak and Prescott National Forest. Each hole is a unique part of the course, with varying distances, compass directions, and skill requirements woven into the experience. The greens are large and well bunkered. Many of the greens are multi-tiered. If you land on the wrong part of the green, don't be surprised if you have to settle for a 3 putt.
The course is currently open for public play. It is scheduled to turn private in 2018.

Wickenburg Ranch has been slumbering for the past five plus years and now has awakened to provide some very top golf that is both challenging and relaxing. Making the drive from Phoenix only wets your appetite for what you can bite into at WR.
Be sure to choose the correct tees to enhance your day and maximize your skill. The bentgrass greens will tune up your putting prowess in a hurry especially on the first hole as the green is a slanted two tier beauty. The elevation at WR will "cool" you by about ten plus degrees compared to Phoenix temps which makes summer play in the early part of the day more enjoyable. The course will get your attention and will test your shot making from the tee, the fairway and near the green. You may get a stiff breeze from the west during your round be sure to trust your senses.
A clubhouse will soon replace the temp tent structure, so after your round you can relax with cool one and enjoy TJ's " Wickenburger" before your trip home.

This is a super golf course with probably the best fairways and greens I have played on in a long time. The courses is your typical desert course where you must stay out of the desert but is wide enough in most places that you don't feel that the course is unfair. The greens are quick but not overly fast and are full of interesting contours. A tough course that would be much easier the second time around as course knowledge is very helpful. Definitely worth the drive. The staff is very friendly and a new clubhouse is currently being built and scheduled for opening in the late months of this year. To me this is a top ten course in Arizona.
