Knollwood Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Granada Hills, California. Located in the gentle rolling hills of Granada Hills, Knollwood Country Club was first established as a Private Country Club and was a destination to many celebrities including the Rat Pack.
Knollwood Golf Course opened for play in 1956. The course was designed by William F. Bell and William H. Johnson. The fairways throughout the golf course are surrounded by beautiful Pines and Eucalyptus trees.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,373 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,714 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 584 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 126 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, a 429 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Knollwood Golf Course is # 17, the 126 yard par-3.
Hole #1 is rated as one of the toughest holes in Southern California. This hole is a straight-away par 4 that measures 429 yards from the Blue Tees. Mid to high handicappers should play a high percentage tee shot and play the hole as a short par 5. Long ball hitters favor the left side. The ball will kick to the right, so you may want to add a half to full club for uphill approach shot.
Hole 4 is a challenging and lengthy 584 yard par 5 that is reachable downwind in the winter time. Be careful of the out of bounds on the second and approach shots. Long hitters try to lay-up 90-100 yards to avoid the fairway bunker on the left center. Subtract half a club for approach shot.
Hole 16 is a reachable par 5 measuring 502 yards from the blue tees. Watch fairway bunker on right side for second shot. The ball kicks to the left on approach shot. Stay below and to the left of the pin if it is tucked right.
Hole 18 at Knollwood Golf Course is an easy, downhill par 4 measuring 371 from the blue tees. Long hitters hug the right side so you can see the pin on your approach shot. Don’t worry about the fairway bunker on the left, there is room long and left. Green is very deep, so pay attention to pin position. Green breaks less than it appears.

The pace of play was miserably slow. 8 hours for a round of golf. There was no marshal, in fact no one from Managment was anywhere on the course. When we complained about the slow play, we were told to get out and not return. We spoke to others who said we were lucky to get a round in 8 hours. Their round was over 9 hours. Others did not finish before nightfall after starting in the morning. SLOW. You will be waiting over 30 min on each tee...

Pace of play..slow,slow,slow...add to that fivesomes and it's almost unbearable. Six and a half hours for a round. The slow pace starts at the check-in with a one thing at a time and one thing only starter. No one will check in before their time or out of order. The Marshall, if there is one, comes by, says hi and does nothing about the pace of play. The food is much better than average with some of the best soups and chili around.

Fivesomes and poor customer service at starter makes for a long and difficult round.

This course is in my neighborhood and I feel fortunate to have such easy access to it. My favorite in the San Fernando Valley.

Nice layout..fairways in bad shape when we played. Fairly priced for the type of course.

Used to like this course. Not enough staff - poorly managed now and poorly maintained. People right behind you and tees stacked two or three parties deep. We won’t be going back.
