We got a special rate today so it was a really good deal otherwise it's an expensive course. 3 of us played in a little over 3 hours but there was no one in front of us. Greens are hard to read the breaks.

Nice course but way too pricey.

I love this course. Business travel brings me to the Bay Area often and I try to squeeze in a round at Half Moon Bay on most trips. The HMB Ocean Course is my top choice.

We played on a spectacular day in Half Moon Bay - no wind and warm! We also had a discount coupon for $55 for the round including cart. Coupons can be obtained by registering as an eClub member. Course was in great condition!

The greens were recently areated, hence lower than normal green condition rating. When one can see the white caps on the ocean from Skyline Blvd., as was the case this day, you know you are in for a wee bit of a breeze. The one thing I very much appreciate about the ocean course is that, unlike many newer courses, it is made to walk.

One of my absolute favorites. The final couple of holes are unreal and, if you play in the afternoon, you might hear the bagpipes coming up 18 along with you. Setting is unreal, great 19th hole. Better than the sister course, with views of the ocean from almost every hole. Only negative is the price -- I wouldn't play it for full price, but there are PLENTY of deals out there if you look for them.

I played this course because I received a gift certificate. I found the twilight rate was only $80 cart included, which is a very good deal for the course. The course is challenging, with some penalties for wayward drives, but is in general very playable and has several picturesque tee shots, with beautiful 16th and 17th holes. This course is playable for all difficulty levels. It does play mostly like a links-style course, with trees only on a couple holes and wide openings to most greens. Overall, I would say well worth the $80, but not $175.

Great views of the ocean. Expensive, but you can get some good on-line & twilight deals. Pace of play is usually good, but late in the day people jump holes which can cause a slow down on the last 3-4 finishing holes.
