Detailed description of Primm Valley Golf Club, Desert Course
Lakes Course at Primm Valley Golf Club, is a Resort, 36 hole golf course located in Nipton, California. The facilities two courses are The Lakes Course and The Desert Course.
The Desert Course opened in May 1998 and was built to showcase the beautiful desert landscaping and providing a stark contrast to the almost-tropical Lakes Course. Like the Lakes Course, this course too was designed by Tom Fazio. Slightly more demanding of the player's ability, it measures 7,131 yards with a par of 72. The course is accented with palm and mesquite trees, as well as colorful cactus and desert wildflowers to give it a true desert feeling.
Where water was used on the Lakes Course, vast stretches of waste bunkers border the fairways on seven holes. Water does come into play on five holes, and narrow fairways with elevation changes and large, well-bunkered greens test even the most skilled players.

The course is in the middle of the Desert. The temepature was over 100 on both days we played. We played both the Desert and the Lakes course.
There was not on ounce of water on the course, as in cooler stations. First day, shame on them, second day shame on me, I should have known better. They did have a cooler on the cart with some ice and a small bottle of water in it for each golfer. That was it. Eighteen holes no water. The cart girl was seen once on the first day on the Desert course and that was after 11 holes. We saw her twice on the second day. The hospitability cart guy had plenty of sand and dry towles but no water.
This is the sixth year that I have played these courses and loved to do so up until this year. Unbelievable how bad the greens were. Having no water though in the middle of the desert was the breaking point,I will not be going back for the seventh year.
