Hawks Landing Country Club, previously named Pattonbrook Country Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located minutes off of I-84 exit 32 in Southington, Connecticut.
Hawks Landing Golf Course first opened in 1967. The course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish.
The course plays to a par-70 and measures 5,825 from the tips. There are five par-4s on the front nine, all measure 360 yards or less. On the back nine there are only three par-4s, one measures 390 yards, one measures 410 yards and the third only measures 305 yards. With 6 of the 8 par-4's sitting at 360 yards or less, the opportunity to make par would seem easy, however the majority of the holes on the course are narrow without a lot of room for error
#9 and 18 are both picturesque par-3's. Each of these holes have a pond in front of the green
#17 is a 475 yard par-5, a hard dogleg left with a blind pond on the left corner. Bunkers and a 40' pine tree protect the green. If you don't have the perfect angle you are forced to either layup left (and risk going in the pond) or try to play a cut around the pine tree to hit the green in two.
Blue tees: par-70, 5,825 yards, 58.6 / 124
White tees: par-70, 5,355 yards, 56.4 / 119
Gold tees: par-70, 4,510 yards, 53.5 / 115
Red tees: par-70, 4,015 yards, 53.9 / 106

I have played this course the last couple of years while visiting my daughter. In the past I have always enjoyed the course, however, this time I felt the course was not in very good shape. It took us 5 hours to play this time. The two groups ahead of us were very slow and there was no Marshall on the course to speed them along. The course was not in very good shape, not worth $45.00 per person. When I booked online it showed 00 for fees, and when I pointed this out to the people in the pro-shop they just passed it over very casually.
