Hernando Oaks Golf Club is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Brooksville, Florida.
Hernando Oaks Golf Club first opened for play in 2003. The course was designed by Scott Pate
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,905 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,099 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 8, a par-5 that plays to 555 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 16, a par-3 that plays to 194 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 12, a 432 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 6, a 285 yard par-4.
The back nine in particular provides golfers with a great mix of holes and a feeling of seclusion. The final four holes at Hernando Oaks are arguably the best finishing holes in Tampa.

I called to make a tee time and asked: how were the greens? the answer was good. We drove for almost an hour to find the greens were punched no more than four days ago. Very dissapointed in the managements choice to lie to their customers. I think the course is one of the finest in the area, great layout and the greens are usually in great shape. I know things are tough these days, with the economy in the horrible shape it's in, but if you want me to play the course again and reccomend it to my friends, please don't lie to me. I work at a golf course and if my boss told me to lie about the conditions, I would not do it. Golf should = integrity, when that is gone so am I.

Hernando Oaks is a great course. It lacks a formal clubhouse and proshop, but the golf is outstanding. Everything you could want in a course. Got a 4.5 rating from Golf Digest, I am sure it missed the coveted 5 star only because of the missing clubhouse and amenities. Worth the visit. Recommend.

Fairways were a little on the dry side...but the area is in semi-drought condition. greens were big and fast, though a little hard. Interesting layout with some really challenging holes.

This is a good course as far as the game of golf goes. Great fairways, great great greens. The bunkers finally have sand in them. Its not an easy course, but its a wonderful course to play. But management sucks! Everytime we play there we start 40 to 45 minutes late. They never get the number of players or tee times correct. They claim on a Sunday morning or afternoon I should expect everything to be late. But we play some 20 other courses in the area and it never happens elsewhere. At the most things are one tee time late, not 6 or 7 tee times late. They make a great grilled chicken sandwich as well. My group of 12 won't be playing there as often as we would like to. I can't stand being angry before my round starts. I am a bogey golfer, I don't need that and I play golf to relax and play well. I could not recommend the course sadly because of extremely poor management.

Unless they get some rangers to monitor pace of play, I wouldn't recommend this course. 5 1/2 hrs, fivesome in front of us, we quit after the 15th hole. No help from the clubhouse. Needs management.
