Old Corkscrew Golf Club is a Semi-Private 18-hole golf course located in Estero, Florida, about a half hour's drive southeast of Fort Myers.
Old Corkscrew opened for play in 2006. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is one of his signature courses.
Billed as the only "stand alone" Jack Nicklaus course in Southwest Florida, Old Corkscrew Golf Club is not part of a real estate development. Named for the winding river nearby, it's set on a 275-acre site about seven miles east of I-75.

This golf course is not worth the price in season. The greens are awful with mounds, humps and bumps. What was Jack thinking? Very difficult for the average to good player. Bring lots of extra ammo. Slow play because of difficulty. I live nearby and would never go back unless the club lowers its pride considerably. Not fun.

My favorite course, which is why it is my home course. Staff is great. Course is always in shape and difficult.

The green conditions were OK at best. Certainly not up to the rack price of $179. The layout was outstanding.

This is a very good Nicklaus Signature layout. It is far inland and away from the hustle and bustle of the typical area courses. No homes on the course and a feel of being deep in the Everglades. More interesting layout than almost all nearby golf courses. They were still operating out of a very nice but temporary clubhouse. The greens here are very undulating. My opinion is a few need to be recontoured as they were nearly unputtable. Peaks of some of the undulations do not hold water and tend to burn. Overall the most challenging and un-Florida like layout in the area. Read my review at golfsliced.com.

This was not a fun course to play. Just too tough for the average golfer. I'm a 12 handicap and it was very difficult. The greens are very difficult due to different levels and mounds. You must be on the right level or your cooked. And that level is usually small and when I played they were very hard to hold.
