Cheval Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Lutz, Florida.
Steve Smyers designed the Cheval Country Club golf course. The mature and well-maintained course winds through the Cheval gated community. Cypress trees abound along with native Florida wildlife, including deer, alligators, otters, eagles, wading birds, and more.
The course has oversized elevated tees and large landing areas around the well-bunkered greens. Cheval has elevation changes, is well-drained, has nearby water on 17 of 18 holes, and almost 100 strategically placed sand traps.
Six sets of teeing distances provide a challenge to golfers of all levels on this par 72 layout featuring five par threes and five par fives. Three sets are individually rated and sloped for women at 4,873, 5,513, and 6,030 yards. Four sets are rated and sloped for men, beginning with a distance of 6,030 yards, followed by our regular tees at 6,419, the championship tees at 6,710, and the pro tees at 7,145.
The large practice facility includes target greens, distance markings, a practice greens-side bunker, a practice fairway bunker, a large putting green, and separate pitching green.

Now that the rainy season seems to be tapering off, the course is in excellent condition.

The fairways were very dry and brown. They rely to much on reputation and did not meet expectations.
