The Cateechee Golf Club golf course first opened for play in 1997. The course was designed by Mike Young.
The Cateechee Golf Club golf cours is located In the scenic foothills of Northeast Georgia minutes from Lake Hartwell. Cateechee is "pure golf in a nature park." No houses, no street crossings, no traffic to spoil your experience of playing this Audubon Signature Course, named a "Four-Star" destination by Golf Digest
To score well at Cateechee Golf Club, you'll need to be a little daring. In the tradition of the great Scottish architects, the course takes advantage of the terrain's dramatic contours, as well as its natural streams and strands of trees. The fast Bent Grass greens are touted as the best in North Georgia. Fairways are tree lined or skirted by natural grasses. Don't let the peace and tranquility distract you; the 6928 yard layout is no walk in the park. The result is a unique semi-private facility that is as challenging as it is beautiful.
At 6,928 yards, the par-72 layout is not overly long by today’s standards, but don’t be misled. From the longest of five sets of tees, the course rating is 73.5 and the slope rating is a stout 143. The dramatic topography of the overall site adds to the challenge, with a variety of uphill and downhill shots rarely played from perfectly level lies. Architect Mike Young added to the test by creating boldly contoured putting surfaces that reward precise iron play and punish anything less.

Don't try to walk 18 holes without a caddy.

Very good course for this area; great clubhouse, a little out of the way, but worth the drive.
