Crosswinds Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Savannah, Georgia.
Crosswinds first opened for play in 2000. The course was designed by Mike Kistler, the owner/developer.
Crosswinds Golf Course is a parkland/links designi It's a fun course for the high handicapper and a challenging one for the low handicapper."
The front nine is a tree studded parkland setting. # 1 is a par-5 that measures 497 yards from the back tees and 405 from the forward. This is a nice par-5 that's reachable in two for most players. It's designed for good fun allowing a good score on the hole to start your round off on a positive note. There is some water to cross on the front nine, but most of the lakes and ponds do not come into play. But one of the signature holes is #3, a par-5 that is definitely a risk-reward hole because of the lake running along the fairway; this is a hazard that could affect your second and third shots. The hole is a long one – 541 yards from the back tees and 431 from the forward – and the fairway curls to the right around that lake. #8 is a par-4 (352 yards from the back tees and 249 from the forward) that is split by a creek down the middle of the fairway. Off the tee, it's safer to go left because there is more of a landing area. The approach to the green is narrower if you go that way and you have three bunkers to contend with.
The back nine has more of a links flavor because there are fewer trees. # 12 is a par-3 (165 yards from the back tees and 111 from the forward) that requires crossing a pond and a bunker to get to the green. You'll find that # 14 through #18 make for a great set of finishing holes. # 16 is a short par-4 (295 yards from the back tees and 195 from the forward) that is drivable but has a tricky green. Alice Cooper (the rock singer) drove the green on this hole when he played Crosswinds Golf Club. (And by the way, Alice Cooper shot a 71 on this course). # 16 demands care in part because of a lone pine tree that stands like a sentinel in the middle of the fairway. There is also a waste bunker blocking the way to the green. After #17, a par-3, you move on to the closer, a par-5 that measures 519 yards from the back tees and 397 from the forward. # 18 is a risk reward hole that can give you a lot of trouble. On the left you can go out of bounds and on the right is a lake. You either cross water to get on to the green on the right or you end up being short on the left. You have to go over the water to make the green in two. Another interesting fact about 18: It has a double green that it shares with # 9.
Distances and ratings/slopes from the various tees: 6,512 yards (71.7/132); 6,032 (69.6/125); 5,587 (67.7/119); 5,155 (65.7/109); and 4,693 (67.7/110).

Enjoyed the plane traffic as my son is a pilot and that didn't bother me. Played from the back tees and enjoyed the various views they offer and landing areas they demand on some holes. For the $30 package it was well worth the price for the area.

Just a tad bit expensive (my humble opinion), but it is a fun course that I play several times a year.
The biggest gripe I have is the $5+ charge for a bag of range balls to warm up with...I hate that!! Range balls should be included as part of the greens fee...

This is a well-laid-out course next to the Savannah airport. The course is a good test of golf with some water and well-placed bunkers. It can get a little loud with aircraft and vehicles but nothing too bad.
