Sugar Hills sits in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains. They offer some of the best golfing vistas in Georgia. Trees, traps, and moguls define the tight Bermuda 419 fairways while the new champion, dwarf Bermuda grass greens offer precision putts.

Watch out for # 4, a 402 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Sugar Hill Golf Club is # 12, the 141 yard par-3.

Do not be fooled by the length of the golf course. From the back tees some of the carries are 220-230 yards. I am 73 now and sneaky short, I couldn't manage them now. 20 years ago no problem. Actually I found the width of most fairways pretty generous. It is extremely hilly and a tough walk. I wouldn't walk this track if I was 23. Some very interesting holes. Par threes are pretty easy. Some par 4's and the par 5's not so much. Jim Huyer

This was one beautiful course. Every hole looks like their trade mark hole. Beautiful hills everywhere. The greens needed some work but did not spoil the experience. Definitely not a course for walking. The yardage markers were not that accurate, but that was not a problem. The front nine was the easiest of the nines. It was also the prettiest. The fairways were quite wide and cut perfectly. Truly a pleasure to play. Cost was $39.00

Great course if you like every hole different style, and different clubs off tee.

I live in Sugar Hill and have been playing here since 2010. The course had gotten pretty run down over that time. It had gotten so bad that the bunkers were played as ground under repair and the large driving range mat looked like (and felt like) the field in Veterans Stadium circa 1990. However, with a new mayor and a renewed interest in golf, as well as a dearth of public courses in the area (two public courses in Gwinnett County and one just over the county line in Forsyth have been bulldozed for housing) has inspired some much needed improvements. The bunkers have been weeded and filled with sand, the mat on the range is in the process of being replaced with a new, springy mat, and a lot of trees have been removed which should really help many tee boxes, fairways, and greens be healthier in the future.
