Royal Kunia Country Club features a championship, 18-hole golf course designed by architect Robin Nelson. Originally slated to open in 1994, local politics held the course dormant for nearly a decade. Finally, in April, 2003, Royal Kunia Golf Course opened for play.
Royal Kunia Country Club has been described as one of the best and most scenic course on Oahu. Located only 30 minutes from Waikiki or the North Shore, this course offers the ultimate Hawaii golfing experience for the beginner to low handicapper.
The Royal Kunia Golf Course has beautiful views of Pearl Harbor and the city of Honolulu from it's mountaintop location. The picturesque, rolling fairways are lined with palms and other native flora, along with six water features and 101 bunkers which adds to the aesthetic appeal of this picturesque golf course. Water comes into play on several holes and bunkering is plentiful. The large undulating greens are challenging but fair.
Royal Kunia is a par-72 layout that plays from 4,945 to 7,007-yards, and offers four sets fo tees to challenge a variety of handicaps and skill levels. The par 5 ninth hole is the signature hole of the course measuring 621 yards from the back tees. From the tee's one gets a panoramic view of the entire south shore of Oahu. waited 10 years to play.
