Ulen Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Lebanon, Indiana
Ulen Country Club golf course first opened for play in 1924. The course was designed by William H. Diddel.
Ulen Country Club has a friendly layout, suitable for players of all abilities and interests. The course is a par-70 and can play up to 6310 yards. It is a wonderful facility for walkers, as it was designed in the day of caddy golf.
The entire golf facility covers 110 acres. This includes 2 acres of greens, 2 acres of tees, 25 acres of fairways, and 80 acres of maintained rough. There are two water features on the course. A lake is in play on three holes, and a creek crosses seven different holes. The course is well protected by bunkering. The total number of bunkers is 80, which is a large number for a short layout. These bunkers protect their well-manicured greens, which place a premium on approach shots and the short game. Ulen's greens are small and undulating. The greens place a premium on quality shot.
Ulen has undergone some major renovations to include drainage and irragation upgrades. Throughout these changes, the original integrity of Mr. Diddle's design has remained. His original green contours, fairway mounding, and overall layout is intact. Ulen Country Club claimes that they are the only known Diddle design to be able to boast this claim.
