Christmas Lake Golf Course first opened for play in 1968. The course was designed by Ed Ault.
The back and front nines are notably different in appearance. The front nine holes are driver-friendly with large, well-bunkered greens. Even if you drive it well here, you still must avoid some well-placed hazards. The back nine holes are more indicative of the local landscape. While the fairways are tree lined, your approach shot will be the challenge on this side, with the hilly terrain making a level lie a rarity.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,275 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,142 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 13, a par-5 that plays to 564 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 180 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 6, a 477 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Christmas Lake Golf Course is # 14, a 186 yard par-3.

The course is in good condition considering the heat and humidity for the past three weeks. The one negative would be the condition of the cart paths, but the staff has indicated they will be worked on this fall.

Played this course today. Beautiful this time of year with the trees changing colors which added to an already scenic and beautiful course. Greens were in really good shape. Course was a little wet in spots, but pretty good over all. Enjoyed a really good course on a really nice day.
