This is the last of my three (3) courses (Seneca GC, Standard CC) and I have to say.....Saved the Best for Last. This 1990 Steve Smyers design is a true "Link's" layout and has no shortage of forced carries, rolling terrain, long heather grass, sand traps framing fairway, and greens. With the five (5) tee selections you can choose from Gold @ 6,844yd / 73.0 / 125 down to Red @ 5,291yds / 70.8 / 121 on this Par 36/36 spacious layout. The only trees here border the course with great spacing/heather separating the fairways. The big surprise was the "overseeding" of the fairways and having tight green fairway grass to hit from. The greens were firm (8-9) for early March and undulating, but held iron shots very well.

We chose to play from the Blues @ 3,157/3,096yds / 70.1 / 124 and it seem that every green was 1-2 clubs extra to those elevated greens. The #2 is a Hcp 8 meandering 584 yds Par 5 with boarding fairway sand traps, right where you don't want them to this uphill green. The #2 is a 448yd Hcp 2 Par 4 that hides this uphill blind green behind a large RH trap, so miss left. The #5 is a downhill 160yd Par 3 but don't miss long or left to this long narrow green with a left front trap. The #6 is the 295yd Par 4 hole that is viewed in the insert and you want to aim way right of the green because you can't see those rock/water from the tee box. The #7 a 535yd Par 5 has a blind tee shot over the hill but has a center stick you aim at. The #9 is a 401yd with a hidden LH sand trap 200yds out so stay to RH side off the tee. The #11 hole at 447yds is a Hcp 1 uphill all the way with three (3) sand traps guarding your landing area 200-275yds out from the tees with a large LH front trap guarding the green. The #13 is an uphill 148yd Par 3 with a steep rejecting front and a large sand trap to catch those long shots to this very narrow sidehill green. The #15 is another uphill 170yd Par 3 that plays a lot longer than it looks with front sand traps guarding the steep front. The #17 plays uphill on this 377yd Par 4 that has a rocky LH creek crossing the fairway at the 100yd stick that's all hidden from the tee box. The #18 is a short uphill double dogleg 477 yds Par 5 with nine (9) sand traps to maneuver to this elevated and protected green.

Really enjoyed the conditions and challenges I found here on this Links layout today. Helpful tips from my playing partners had me shooting 43/37 w/31 putts and lots of laughs along the way. This is a MUST play if you find yourself in Louisville, KY ......,.anytime of the year.

I always enjoy playing this course. It is a links type course and that adds to the fun. When ever I have friends or relitives in this is the course I take them to.

A really good links course, very well maintained, but the staff really make this course enjoyable. No friendlier staff ANYWHERE.

This is very solid golf course from the back tees, challenging, greens are good but not great. Great value.
