Detailed description of TPC of Louisiana

TPC of Louisiana is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Avondale, Louisiana.

The venue first opened for play in 2004. The course was designed by Pete Dye. The TPC of Louisiana is part of the PGA Tour's Tournament Players Club network and is the home of the tour's annual Zurich Classic of New Orleans tournament.

TPC Louisiana was named "the #4 best upscale public golf course" by Golf Digest when it debuted in 2004's "Best Courses You Can Play" list.

Located on 250 acres just across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, this course plays through gently rolling terrain, and mature trees line many of the fairways. Originally a flat parcel of land, Dye sculpted natural looking undulations into this layout. There are ample hazards, including trees, water, and several holes boast giant fairway bunkers that lie in wait for mis-hit shots. The greens are large and challenging to putt. The TPC of Louisiana plays from 5,121 to 7,520-yards, and there are five sets of tees to challenge all skill levels. Par for the course is 72. The five sets of tees on each hole ensure a rewarding round for every player no matter his or her ability.

Nice course for the area. Not one of the top notched TPC courses, but still one of the best courses in the area. Great to play knowing that the pros play here annually. Good test of your skills compared to pros.
