Augusta Country Club golf course opened in 1916. The nine holes that were opened and later became the back nine, were designed by Donald Ross. Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek designed nine new holes "the fromt none" in 1926. Orrin Smith redesigned the entire course in 1939.
The course is situated on the northern most shore of Lake Cobbosseecontee in Manchester, Maine. Picturesque views of Lake Cobbosseecontee and challenging terrain make this course enjoyable for round after round. This course has fast and undulating greens. Four tee placements on each hole help create an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels.

Nice course with definite country club ambiance. Busy road separates two nines, which is only major problem with layout, which is otherwise entertaining, with elevation and variety.
