Wawenock Golf Club is a nine hole, links-style course, that opened for play in 1928. The course was designed by Wayne E. Stiles and John Van Kleek.
The course is parkland style, with some elevation change, mostly wide open off the tee, playing to very small greens, with minimal bunkering.. The greens are moderately sized and average 5,000 square feet, and are relatively flat and moderate in speed. Water comes into play on two holes. There are alternate tees for those wishing to do a double loop eighteen hole round and the course plays from 5,500 to 6,200-yards for 18-holes.
From the old style farmhouse / clubhouse, to the carts looking like they're from the 1950's, and the design hasn't been touched much over the years, Wawenock Golf Club is a step back in time.
Wawenock Golf Club is an mature and comfortable classic.
