Compass Pointe Golf courses, is a Public, 36 hole golf Facility located in Pasadena, Maryland.
Compass Pointe Golf courses first opened for play in 2003. The courses were designed by Lindsay Ervin.
The Compasspointe Golf Courses are comprised of four nines (North, South, East & West) playable in a variety of 18-hole combinations.
The first two nines--North & West--opened for play Fall 2003 and the remaining nines--East & South-- opened in 2004. The North nine is a links style track, and its open, rolling fairways are lined with tall fescue and punctuated by streams, ponds and strategically located bunkers. The West nine is more parkland in design, with tight, tree lined fairways that demand accuracy and proper club selection.
The North nine plays from 2,544 to 3,687-yards, and the West nine plays from 2,099 to 3,368-yards. Both nines offer five sets of tees to challenge all skill levels. The East and West are of similar measurements.
The "four nines" - North, South, East, and West - cover more than 800 acres of diverse woodland and provide a wide variety of golf terrains and challenges for golfers of all skill levels.

I have played the North?east combination for 18 holes twice in the last 6 weeks. The course has multiple tees and the level of difficulty is directly related to the tees. The fairways and greens are in good shape and the players tend to fix ball marks. The bunkers are atrocious, the best thing to do is stay out of them. The slow played was cuased by a group playing the back tees that should have been playing the junior tees with no marshall to move them along. There are 4 9 hole tracks and they management could swith them around for diversity. The price was fantastic off a social club network offering for for $28 including lunch, on a weekend no less. Fixing the bunkers will make this a phenomenal deal.

The bunkers on the courseare terrible and at most times out of play. If they continue to charge the price they are charging they need toput some money back in the course.

I paid $33 which is a senior price. On wed it includes a hot dog, chips and a drink along with greens fee and a cart. It is (to me) the best value in the area. The only issue wiht the course is the bunkers tend to be terrible to hit out of. I think it may be a drainage issue but they tend to be like hitting clay. The regular price during the week is $44 and still a good deal for the course. Compass Pointe had 2 18 hole courses. The one I played was the North/East course.

Found the course, South/West, to be very enjoyable with some good challenges for the novice to average golfer. There was an event going on today and did not get a lot of attention from the staff.
