Leicester Country Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Leicester, Massachusetts.
Leicester Country Club first opened for play in 1894.
The golf course provides a mix of holes and challenges in it's par-70, 6000 yard layout.. The par fours range from 309 yards to 437 yards The shorter par four holes are “risk reward” holes. Decisions have to be made about what type of a shot needs to be played. An example is #8, which is the shortest par-4 at 309 yards It's a dog leg right. The hole is designed to hit a 170-yard shot down the center or left side of the fairway. If you stray too far to the right you might catch the small pond or the creek that runs through the fairway. That leaves a shot of 130 to 140 yards uphill to the sloping green. Another way to play this hole is to go over the trees and try to hit the green. If you want a hole in one, it's the only way. And yes, it has been done. Rare.
The layout has three par fives. #2 is 489-yards, up hill all the way. You would think that you could reach the green in two shots, but that doesn’t happen very often.
#14 is a 545-yard par five with a tree-lined fairway. After two good shots, you need to be on the right side of the fairway to get a clear shot at the green because the hole then doglegs to the left. You’ll need to shape your shot to get to the green if you are not on the right side.
Ther are five par 3 holes ranging in length from 165 yards to 201 yard. The signature hole is a par-3, #17. It is 183-yards long, uphill challenge. The hole is tree lined on both sides with a bunker protecting the right front of the green and another bunker catching any shot that is too far left.

Course was very hilly with blind shots. Large group of members slowed down play (5 in group. Staff was very friendly and apologetic for slow play, but being members unable to do much about it. Selected course because I've driven by it many times and want to play as many different courses as possible. Golf cart was free with coupon from New England golf guide.

I was on business last Fall and staying in the Worcester area overnight. I travel with my clubs in the car. I saw this advertised and played the course after finishing work. It was only $20 including cart for as many holes as I could get in! The course was nicely laid out with not too much trouble off the tee. Approaches were not overly long or difficult but I had trouble holding the greens. They were fast which I actually enjoyed when putting. I ended up getting 14 holes in before dark and then retired to the clubhouse for a beer. The staff seemed pretty nice and chatty. Overall, a nice afternoon on the course. Highly recommend.
