After I finished playing Leslie Park GC, I drove by this 1922 Tom Bendelow designed that was under construction, but partial open for play. I decided to pay the $19 to play eleven (11) holes since I was in the area. They are restoring and improving seven (7) of the holes and hope to have it fully open in July sometime. Tee boxes are a little rough and the fairway grass needs attention but the "Bones" are here for a great course. Started on #10 which is a 276yd dogleg right Par 4 that has you threading between two (2) large trees 175yds out to a hidden green. The #11 Par 3 green sits on top of a hill 151yds out with short your only bailout. The #17 is 184yds Par 3 with a green that sits tight in a corner next to a woods. The #18 is a downhill 385yd Par 4 to a green located 20yds from the road, so don't go long. The #8 Par 4 at 337yds, has a valley fairway leading to a uphill located green. The #9 a downhill 376yd Par 4 with the green next to #18 green. The next five (5) holes are the original Front 9 #3/ 136yds, #4/ 231yds, #2/ 180yds, #1/ shortened to 244yds, #7/ shortened to 150yds. Ended up shooting 43 w/20putts on this revised 11 holes playing 2,688yds at a Par 38. Looking forward to returning and playing the complete new and revised layout on this 99 year old course.
Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line:Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
Price, Pace of Play, Staff, Layout, No Houses on Course
