Rated the 42nd best public golf course in the nation, at Shepherd's Hollow seeing is believeing. Set on more than 350 rolling acres, at one of the highest elevations in Oakland County, Shepherd's Hollow is among the most unique golfing experiences in the state of Michigan. 27 holes tucked into a towering forest of pine and oak offers the golfer a natural setting that provides a sense of tranquility. The 27 holes were built on a piece of property with acrege that easily could provide twice the number of holes. A minimalist design was utilized to maintain and take advantage of what many consider a perfect piece of property for a golf course.
#2 welcomes players to taste the course's appeal. It plays 188 yards, all downhill over a bunker with a huge ridge that blocks the view of the front half of the green.
#3 is a short par-4 of 345 yards that plays all uphill between a horde of bunkers, which are unique to the course.
#15 is 354 yards from the tips, but the hole doglegs hard right. A precise tee shot must be played between three bunkers to leave a short approach for a possible birdie.
#16 is a 449-yard, par-4 that requires a blind tee shot to another fairway that doglegs to the right.
#17, a 179-yard par-3, is guarded on the left side by water.
#20, a 599-yard par-5 is the longest hole on the course and the most difficult hole on the Hollow 3 Course (Holes 19-27) at Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club.
#23, a 301-yard par-4 is the longest hole on easiest hole on the Hollow 3 Course (Holes 19-27) at Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club.

They charge 35-40 % more for senior golfers than courses of equal quality in the area. The roughs are too long and they slow down pace of play while looking for your ball. Nice picturesque lay-out but not worth the price. $17 for a pitcher of beer is a little ridiculous!

Played here with my son and said i would enjoy it, "What a track!!" and VERY demanding of your A game. The fairways/greens are always in great condition and rough is, well very rough. Gives you that "Up North" feeling while your out there making well thought shots to the landing areas within your hcp. Remember, "If you stray, you'll pay" and this course will remind you of that. Looking forward to a return trip here.

I was new to the area and could not rate it against other courses in the area. I found it to be a challange but fair if you played using your head. The course layout was great I enjoyed the scenery very much. The wait staff and pro shop people were very polite and helpful. The course staff were helpful and infomative. We talked about coming back to play it again and I can hardly wait.

From California - dragging our sticks - and VERY PLEASED that we did. This is a tough course with hills, sand, water, and trees. What a great layout. We've played all over the world and this gourse rates with the very best. Great course conditions T-to-Green just superb. The weather was great (low 70's and low humidity) - a real oddity for Michigan in the summer. Play this thing twice because it's got some areas that are tricky and your game and score will improve with experience (read; thwere are some places where a member will have an advantage.) When we get back to the area we will go out of our way to play it again. PS my wife loved it, but doesn't have much experience with uneven lies - which there are.

Got a chance to play golf again here on holes 10 - 27 from the Blues. Having never played 19-27 holes, all I can say is..Wow. This complete track is made for the serious golfer that can stay in the short grass. I wish I could talk about every hole, but it’s a blurr as I look back. Yardages are marked on path, sprinkler heads and flip book in the cart. Son Jeremy shot 40/41 w/36putts while I had 43/37 w/32putts on this Great demanding course you must play for a Fall rate of $45. Best course in the area that you won’t be disappointed.
