Saw that this course was recently added, so I dug out my scorecard from 2018 to refresh my memory. This Arnold Palmer Signature course that was built in 2001 is in a marshy woodlands area that is ideal for challenging golfers. Having four (4) tees from 6,912yds / 74.4 / 140 down to 4,851yds / 68.0 / 122 everyone can find their comfort level of play on this Par 36/35 layout. I believe there’s only three (3) holes (#1,10,11) that don’t have forced carry under 130yds as the Par 4’s are mostly 150-180yds from the Blue tees. We chose the Blues today at 6,580/72.4/138 on this soggy morning but the normally fast greens were holding nicely and putting true at 8-9. Each hole is framed by tall trees, ponds, marshland so stay in the short grass or extra shots will follow. Starting out #1 with a 536yd Par 5, double dogleg was warm-up for things to come. Many sand traps placed where you don’t want them and greens tucked in protected corners to challenge your true carry. The #3 dogleg right demands a 220yd drive in the corner to allow a lofted 2nd shot to this protected green. The #4 an 388yd Par 4 is all pond carry 170yds off the tee to a dogleg left fairway, uphill to the green. This Front 9 is all about getting yardages right to landing areas as nothing is straight forward tee to green. The #7 Par 5 Hcp 1 is 566yds of sweeping left fairway, around a pond, many sand traps from tee to green. (Choose attack wisely) Play #9 a 389yd dogleg right with the same caution because of the two (2) forced carries on this Par 4. The Back 9 starts out with two (2) easy straight forward Par 4’s (381/417yd) and then it’s back to forced carries to angled fairways. The #16 a 575yd Par 5 Hcp 2 is a double dogleg right with two (2) forced carries, will be with you on your ride back home. Check your yardage twice on that 3rd shot, give a little extra because short is ugly. The #18 Par 5 is a feel good 525yd fairway with a nice 100’ downhill 3rd shot, to a side hill green, staying below the cup. All in all, this was a great course that had that “Up North” feeling and challenges golfers of all level. I ended up shooting 41/41 w/32 putts, Jeremy had 88 w/37putts and enjoying the fall colors starting to change.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
