Found this Country Club gone Public course at $25 18 w/cart and decided to get a Saturday morning tee time. The layout difficultly is because of old narrow pine tree lined fairways (30 yds wide) and smaller sized green. The green conditions were water soaked (4-5) but the drier areas moved at 7-9, so putting was a challenge. Yardage was from colored sticks on the sides of the fairways and Par 3's didn't have any yardage blocks. The review from 2011 was either kind or a better day in the life of this course. My friend Mark (90 w/36putts) and I (89 w/37putts) struggled with missed fairways and getting into the pine trees, wet traps, various conditions on greens on this (should be easy) 6,387yd / 70.2 / 124 Par 72 layout. Sometime the easy yardage layouts sneak up and surprise you as this one did. If our driving would have been tighter, about 10 strokes could have been shaved off our scores. (I bet you haven't heard that one before.) That's the reason I rated the Layout/Challenge high was because of the difficulty in hitting the narrow pine tree lined fairways. Good course for within 20 miles of here, as it will make one more disciplined on club selection for placement not distance. Every course can teach you a lesson on your game flaws, I just got another lesson today.
