Downing Farms Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Northville, Michigan.
Downing Farms Golf Course first opened for play in 1992 with 9 holes. The course added the back nine 5 years later, in 1997. The course was designed by Harry Bowers.
The course has tree-lined fairways but the fairways are wide with generous landing areas. Water hazards (ponds and a brook) come into play on eight holes. The greens are undulating and protected by grass and sand bunkers. The fairways were built on rolling terrain, so expect some uneven lies.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 5,866 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,271 yards with a par of 71. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 536 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 15, a par-3 that plays to 116 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, the 536 yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 8, a 310 yard par-4.
The signature hole is #6, a 135-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot to a peninsula green with a sand bunker protecting its front right.
