Detailed description of Ledgestone Country Club

Ledgestone Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Reeds Spring, Missouri.

Ledgestone Country Club first opened for play in 1994. The course was designed by Thomas E. Clark of Ault, Clark & Associates.

This is a true mountain course that has no adjoining fairways. There are some drastic elevation changes throughout its design, so expect many uneven lies. The Roark Creek flows through the last four holes of the front nine. LedgeStone Country Club winds through StoneBridge Village, but homes do not intrude.

Described by Golf Digest as a "masterpiece of mountain golf architecture," LedgeStone's 18-hole championship layout offers the kind of golfing experience where "players don't want the round to end." The course has panoramic vistas of the ancient Ozark Mountains and the natural beauty of serene water. Trouble comes from super-fast, large and tricky bentgrass greens and forced carries over water.

With it's 100 ft vertical drop, LedgeStone's #15, a 177-yard, par 3, with a 100-foot drop in elevation from the tee to a green that sits on a limestone ledge, has achieved signature status as a renowned Par 3. Looks are deceiving, and gravity is key to finding and holding the green, choose your club wisely! Another unique par-3 is #17 a 230-yard test requiring a tee shot over a four and a half-acre lake to a peninsula green.

Gold Tees: par-71, 6,891 yards, 73.0 / 132

Blue Tees: par-71, 6,420 yards, 70.9 / 128

White Tees: par-71, 5,881 yards, 68.1 / 122

Green Tees: par-71, 5,358 yards, 65.3 / 111

Red Tees: par-72, 4,928 yards, 69.3 / 116

Beautiful course that is very well maintained. It happened to be incredibly wet the day I played it from several inches of rain the previous few days. The on cart gps system is awesome and easy to use. It was cart path only (understandably) which made it more difficult than normal given the hilly terrain. In spite of the wet conditions, the bunkers were all in great shape and the ball sat up well in the fairways unless you were in a low spot. A bit pricey compared to what I normally pay, but overall worth the money. I will definitely play again, hopefully in drier conditions.

Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area
