Legend Buttes Golf Course, is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Crawford, Nebraska.
Legend Buttes Golf Course first opened for play in 1992. The course was designed by Mr. Weiss.
Each hole is well concealed by large cottonwood trees, so it feels like you may be on the course alone. There are some elevated tee boxes, but in general there are not many hills. There are a few sand traps, but the main hazard is the White River, which comes into play on almost every hole, and a large pond on # 7 and # 9. The greens are very large, averaging 7,500 square feet with lots of undulation, but the speed is average.
The signature hole is #5, which is a 472-yard par 5, with a 60-foot elevation change. It has a very narrow fairway and the White River running along left as OB all the way to the green, so accuracy is very important. With a great view of the buttes and an occasional visit from big horn sheep and Texas Longhorns, it certainly makes for a memorable hole. It would be one of the reasons Golf Digest made it one of the top 25 nine-hole courses in the country in 2012.
Par for the course is 36. From the back tees the course plays to 3,178 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2,461 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 528 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 162 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, a 420 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 1, a 271 yard par-4.

Not the most challenging, but fun to play and kept in good condition
