Apple Mountain Golf Course is a public, 18-hole, golf course located in Belvidere, New Jersey.
Designed by Andrew Kiszonak, the Apple Mountain golf course. The first nine opened on Labor Day 1973 along with the ski slopes with a rope tow lift. It was however decided to abandon skiing and concentrate the efforts on the golf course. As the first nine was successful the second nine opened in 1977.
The course is unique in that it is designed on a hillside and the terrain itself presents many challenges. The course has tree-lined fairways and average-sized greens. There are water hazards on eleven holes which force players to make strategic shots. There are no sand bunkers on this course. The front and back nine are different in character; while the front is more open the back features uphill and downhill lies.
The signature hole is the 17th, a par six, 650 yards from the blue tees, a downhill dogleg plays down the mountain and offers an exciting tee shot, but you must stay away from the woods on the right. You will get roll but you must be accurate to avoid the large tree right at the dogleg. It was once the site of the ski slope and was listed as "one of the 18 most perfect holes in New Jersey" – N.J. Monthly Magazine. The final four holes are the toughest in the state and if you par them all – you've played extremely well. On #18 you are faced with a decision to go for the green or lay up and hit your second shot across the 80 foot pond. It can make or break your day.
Blue tees: par-70, 6,668 yards, 71.8 / 122
White tees: par-70, 6,360 yards, 70.3 / 120
Red tees: par-72, 5,213 yards, 69.8 / 123

My only comment has more to do with this rating system than with the course at hand: I think you'd get more ratings if it wasn't so difficult to get through the process. I mean, I may be a technological retard, but it took me a few moments to even know what "comm required" meant . . . so that my rating would be accepted. What if I have no further comment(s)?

I have played this course a number of times. It is not a high caliber course, layout is crowded and tee boxes are generally fair or worse, cart paths need maintenance. Overall, only a fair course, but is usually a little less expensive than better courses in the general area and it is usually easier to get tee time here than some of those better courses.
